There are a handful of films that explore architecture, usually through the life and work of a well known architect. My Architect, the story of Louis Kahn, is the classic example that will always be playing in schools of architecture around the world. Film is a great medium to discuss architecture and it seems almost strange that there aren't more well known or well made films out there exploring built environment. Although I have not yet seen it, there is a new documentary on the film festival circuit: Infinite Space explores the work of John Lautner. The trailer and more information can be found at

Not a documentary but I remember being shown parts of this movie in a liability insurance seminar. Old B&W comedy.
