While in my home town, I took the 20 minute drive up to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. Although I have been there a number of times in my childhood, I have not been since the addition of the new Air Force One Pavilion and the Boeing 707 that once carried Reagan and a number of other Presidents.

The Pavilion itself is a nice addition done by a local LA architect. The roof structure is similar to a hanger, there is a glass curtain wall with views overlooking Simi Valley, and the opposite side contains exhibits and theaters related to Air Force One. The plane is on a platform so you can walk underneath it and the Pavilion also includes a presidential helicopter, secret service vehicles and the motorcade limo all from the Reagan era. Both a walk through Air Force One or a glimpse inside the old secret service SUV is a blast back to the 80's and it of course leaves you wondering what the larger and modern Air Force One in use today looks like.

It was a quick visit, but interesting nonetheless.

yes. you can go inside the plane, but you can't take any pictures. i also forgot my camera so that above photos are from the architects website. You can see everything but they rope off the cockpit and the cabins. You can look in, but you can only walk in the aisle. They also have tour guides standing throughout the plane telling you information as you walk through.

Do they let you go inside the plane?
