The ancient Greeks considered the town of Delphi holy. According to them it was at the meeting point of the heaven and the earth, where the oracle of the Greek God Apollo guarded over the navel

AIA committee on the environment (COTE) has come up with its list of top 10 green projects of 2009. COTE is doing a fine job but I really want to see the list of projects submitted for consideration. I miss adaptive reuse! Maybe I have a thing for adaptive reuse but I think it the the 'greenest' of all sustainable approaches. what do you think? I stumbled upon this 'living hill' design for a mixed use project (condos/Retail) in Japan by Graft Architects. it's supposed to be completed by 2012. Looks like a few lucky guys will have balconies carved out of the green roof.

The theme for world expo 2010 in China is "Better City, Better Life". A chance to see some really cool pavilion designs that are hopefully also sustainable. Foster + partners recently revealed their sand dunes inspired design for the 32,000 SF UAE pavilion. So far the only significant sustainable 'feature' I'm aware of is that the building will be dismantled and moved back to Dubai to be reused as a cultural center.
