My intention is to initiate a discussion about circumstances and motivations behind individuals choosing architecture and I'm interested to know your story.
As for me- it just happened…
I was always interested in sketching but I grew up tinkering with electronics with my dad and physics used to be my favorite subject. In high school I wanted to become an electronics engineer. During the counseling session for selecting my major I was faced with the choice between the college of my choice and the field I wanted to be in. However as it turns out I found myself talking to a architecture professor and I liked what he told me about architecture and architects. I had never seriously thought about architecture but I thought it'll be fun.
So there I was - a first year student of architecture with no idea of what I was getting into. Next 5 years just zipped by. If I could say –architecture ‘happened’ to me pretty late- when I went to work as an intern in the real world. That’s when I saw my work and my mistakes taking shape. It’s a tough field but it can also be very rewarding. I’m still exploring architecture and I don’t know what lies ahead…but I’m excited about the possibilities.
